Week 4 Discussion

Motion Tracking in Film and Video

This week you will research how motion tracking and image stabilization is used in film and video. Provide a link/s of the movie/trailer for discussion. How these methods are used to create realism in a final composition? Why would a director ask for an effects team to composite a scene versus shooting everything as live action?

in this video the muzzle flare is motion tracked as well as the explosions and maybe in my opinion the short film might have been stabilized so the motion tracking would run smoothly.

    1. the reason the director would rather do a composite scene is because its less expensive to be actually having stuff explode or buying rounds of blanks and not adding having to fly all the actor to a certain set.
